Lesley Robb, BDes, MA
Founder

Lesley Robb’s career in branding and tourism spans over 15+ years. As a graphic designer and avid traveller, her impact in the sector began at G Adventures’ Base Camp in Toronto. She designed award-winning websites for the brand and its partners, including Discovery Adventures by Discovery Channel.

Though it was her calling, so was motherhood which led Lesley to start a new journey as a freelance graphic designer, art director and brand strategist. Staying true to her love for travel, Lesley worked with clients including UnTours, UnCrusie Adventures, Quark Expeditions, Planeterra Foundation, The Travel Corporation, Sustainable Travel International, Akwesasne Travel, East of 80 Travel, Cape Race Newfoundland, The June Motel, Wendy Perrin Travel and many more.

Alongside her freelance career, Lesley built a thriving, sustainable product-based business allowing her to explore another side of entrepreneurship. She also returned to school to pursue an MA in Sustainability Studies at Trent University. Upon completing her degree, she closed her business and listened to her calling once again. It was a winding journey, but the best adventures always are.

Now, she brings a wealth of knowledge to Swell Impact, where she merges branding, entrepreneurship and sustainability to help businesses in tourism reimagine their brands as a force for good through their purpose and impact.

A lifelong adventurer and learner, Lesley lives like a traveller no matter where she ends up—that means stepping lightly with respect and gratitude and acknowledging her privilege as a guest on the traditional territory of many nations. Having lived across Canada, she is now making a home in Halifax, Nova Scotia, located in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship.”

Francene Francis, BSc, MA

Francene, who grew up on the beautiful tropical island of Jamaica, witnessed the darker side of tourism that led to littered streets and polluted waterways. Early on, she vowed to make a difference and restore her home.

Thanks to her active participation in environmental organizations and businesses, as well as her studies at Trent University, Francene has been successful in doing just that. She has reported on environmental issues, conducted research at Noblegen, and introduced nature-based programs in Ontario's North Huron region. Francene is dedicated to finding solutions that improve the world, one action at a time.

Greg Waclawek, BSc, MA

Greg, a traveller and food lover, is passionate about working towards practical solutions addressing climate change while promoting sustainability for current and future generations.

Greg has a varied background in ecology and sustainability that has taken him worldwide, from studying aquaculture in the Netherlands to apiaries in Ontario. A recent grad from Trent University, Greg has served as an Innovation Fellow for the Region of Durham, where he specialized in stakeholder engagement and management and collaborative governance to support community organizations regarding local energy systems. Greg’s work aims to understand environmental, social, and economic issues comprehensively.
